Specific features of Renault key production

The loss or failure of an unlocking device causes many difficulties in the life of a car owner. Today, the manufacture of keys for Renault cars is relatively quick and can be carried out by competent specialists, allowing the problem to be solved at a reasonable price. The use of professional equipment and modern tools guarantees an excellent result.

“The procedure for making Renault keys is carried out in two stages: the manufacture of the blade and the programming of the key. For the first task, high-precision CNC machines are used to create a perfect replica of the key without any signs of wear. This result is achieved thanks to the information available in the equipment’s database on the parameters of the blades for the various Renault models: depth of recesses, size of protrusions, width of the key. Therefore, even in the event of significant wear on the key, a duplicate will be produced exactly as the original was from the start.

Programming

In order to start the car using the key, it must be registered in the immobiliser. Programming can be carried out via the diagnostic socket or by using a copy of the key, or by using the immobiliser’s working memory. The latter option involves the use of one of the equipment from the list given – BCM (Body Control Unit), dashboard, antenna or immobiliser, EVB. This is because for different model years the chip information may be stored in a specific block.

The immobiliser will need to be removed in order to read the immobiliser memory data using special devices. This can be done by the owner himself or by calling a specialist to the car park. The key is programmed by EEPROM/FLASH.

The presence of the car is only occasionally required to make a copy of the chip and one key is usually sufficient. In this case, the speed of duplicate production also depends on the Renault model and the year of manufacture of the car. Remote controls are also programmed if necessary. This procedure is carried out via the diagnostic sockets or manually.
